Salary: £ 10,598 (FTE £24,027)

Polam Hall School wishes to appoint two enthusiastic and experienced individuals to the following post:

Teaching Assistant

The successful candidates will be based in the primary phase of the school with opportunities to work across key stages.

The post requires the Teaching Assistant to work under the direction of the Heads of our Primary phase and in line with the needs of the classroom teachers to:-

• support the delivery of learning for each pupil to enable them to reach their potential, working with individual pupils or small groups or within a whole class setting to support the delivery of high standards of teaching and learning and pupil progress.

• actively uphold the values and ethos of the school in all interactions with pupils, and to model the behaviours expected of pupils.

• respond to the specific learning needs of the pupil(s).

• be proactive in managing pupil behaviour and supervise pupils at lunch and break times as required.

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or teaching) qualification is essential.

Qualifications / experience in supporting Maths and English are desirable and individuals ideally will have experience of supporting children of primary school age.

This is a permanent post.

Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 years all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust and delighted to have been rated Good by Ofsted in October 2021 and strives to be Outstanding upon their return. We have 790 pupils on roll with 1.5 form entry in our Primary Phase whilst over the last two years our secondary phase has increased from three to four forms of entry. Polam Hall is a school with a unique and long history, which today is proud to be a fully comprehensive school serving the young people of Darlington.
