Polam Hall School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced candidate to the following post:

Teaching Assistant – with a specialism in Key Stage 2.

The successful candidate will be based in the Junior phase of the school however there is an opportunity to work across the school with Junior and Secondary aged children as well as across subjects.

3 days per week (Grade C Points 3 – 6) £10,832 - £11,378 (2024/25 pay award pending) salary dependent upon experience.

The post requires the Teaching Assistant to work under the direction of the Head of Juniors and in line with the needs of the classroom teachers to:-

• support the delivery of learning for each pupil to enable them to reach their potential, working with individual pupils or small groups or within a whole class setting to support the delivery of high standards of teaching and learning and pupil progress.

• actively uphold the values and ethos of the school in all interactions with pupils, and to model the behaviours expected of pupils.

• respond to the specific learning needs of the pupil(s).

• be proactive in managing pupil behaviour and supervise pupils at lunch and break times as required.

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or teaching) qualification is essential.

Qualifications / experience in supporting English and Maths is desirable and candidates ideally will have experience of supporting children of junior school age.

This is a permanent post.

We have 790 pupils on roll with 1.5 form entry in our Primary Phase whilst over the last two years our secondary phase has increased from three to four forms of entry.
